Longembolie is een frequente oorzaak van ziekte en mortaliteit. Tot 10 000 personen in België worden er jaarlijks door getroffen. Hoewel de gemiddelde mortaliteit geschat wordt rond 8%, is er een verschil tussen laag- en hoog-risico longembolen. Zowel de risico-inschatting als de aanpak van intermediair- en hoog-risico longembolen heeft de voorbije jaren evoluties ondergaan. In deze Pentalfa sessie wordt de risicostratificatie en acute aanpak van patiënten met longembolen toegelicht.
