In this course KU Leuven gives an introduction on chip design. The course will give a broad view on the topic starting from the materials and processes that are used over circuits made of transistors towards chips that create artificial intelligence (AI). It is expected that the participants have a basic knowledge in electronics. The course offers both theoretical and hands-on sessions. The course is open for a broad technical audience.

In deze opleiding leer je te bepalen welke rechtsregels van toepassing zijn en verdiepen we ons in de inhoud van de toepasselijke regels. Daarbij geven we aandacht aan de regels voor camera’s naargelang het gebruik dat ervan wordt gemaakt: gaat het enkel om het online bekijken van beelden of worden de beelden opgeslagen en verder verwerkt. Voor iedereen die gebruik maakt of wenst te maken van camera’s of voor wie kennis wil nemen wat er met beelden die over hem of haar worden genomen, gebeurt.

Taught by experts from KU Leuven and renowned companies in the semiconductor sector, this course provides an in-depth introduction to analog chip layout, design software, reliability considerations, and other essential aspects of integrated circuit development. Through a combination of lectures and practical hands-on sessions, participants gain both theoretical knowledge and practical experience.

The course consists of 8 full days (9 a.m - 5 p.m.), with 1 course day per week. It will take place every Friday, from February 19 until April 23, 2027. There will be no lecture on March 2 and March 9, 2027. The course will be organised in-person, in Leuven (Heverlee). The evaluation will take place on May 5, 2027. Participation in the evaluation is not mandatory.
